A seal runs all the way around the housing and four screws press the cover down onto it. That's the difference from clip-on cases: here, neither puddle water nor dirt reaches the tracker.

The collar passes between two stainless steel bars, not through a plastic loop. Measure the width of the strap before ordering: over 3 cm it won't fit, and a round or chain collar won't work either.
It fits in the palm of your hand and weighs about as much as a coin. That's what matters for a cat: a case that's too heavy ends up being removed because the pet gets annoyed or scratches at it.
The same bars clamp just as well onto a backpack strap, a suitcase handle or a bike bag. The day your pet no longer needs it, the case can be used elsewhere.
